We are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily. All are welcome.

We provide several ways for visitors to tour Hsi Lai Temple. All of our tours are available in English. Please read the detailed information below to find the tour that best suits your needs.

Before you visit, please be aware of the following guidelines:

  1. All Roads are one way only

  2. Speed Limit: 5 miles per hour

  3. Solicitors are prohibited

  4. Drone planes are prohibited

  5. Smoking and/or vaping(e-cigarette) prohibited

  6. Meat, fish and/or poultry prohibited

  7. Alcoholic beverages prohibited

  8. Bicycles, rollerblading or skateboarding prohibited

  9. Medical or recreational use of marijuana prohibited

  10. No pets allowed, except service animal

  11. (Non-Commercial) Photos and video outdoor only

  12. No advertising, commercial photography and/or video allowed without approval/permission

  13. Visitors Parking only, others will be towed at owner’s expense

  14. Loud music, private gathering, and/or tailgate party in the parking lot prohibited

  15. Overnight parking prohibited

  16. Oversized vehicle prohibited: all oversized vehicles, including school buses and tour buses please park on glenmark drive

  17. Dress code required: no sleeveless shirts/blouses, tank tops, shorts, shorts skirts, slippers/flip-flops

We reserve the rights to refuse service to anyone who violates them.

Providing easy access to a balanced vegetarian meal with a rotating daily menu consisting of steamed rice, savory noodles, a colorful array of hot veggies, beautifully cooked greens, crunchy fried goodness, hot soup, tea, as well as fresh fruit.

During open hours, self-guided English audio tours are available free of charge in the Information Center to individual or small groups (10 or less). The audio tour covers all the major parts of the temple and lasts about 40 minutes. It pairs well with a nice vegetarian lunch in our famous dining hall.

Hsi Lai Temple now offers free guided weekend tours for individuals or small groups of 14 or less. No advance reservation is needed! Just gather at the Information Center according to the schedule mentioned below, where a docent will begin the tour.

The schedule for drop-in guided tours is  Each Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm.

The tour will last about one hour and cover most of the temple grounds, except for the museum. For a small entrance fee ($1.00), you are welcome to visit the museum before or after the tour. Combined with our buffet lunch, a drop-in tour is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.

For groups of 15 or more, reservations are available Tuesday through Saturday between 10am to 3pm.

Please, book 14 days in advance.

Scheduled tours take about 1 ½ hours and cover the entire temple: the Bodhisattva Hall, gardens, courtyard, and Main Shrine.

For scheduled tours, there is a $2 fee per person.

For a scheduled tour AND lunch, there is a $9 fee per person (Lunch by itself is normally $8.).
