Sutra Studies Buddhism Class

Please join us for in-depth study of one of the most profound teachings of the Buddha, the Prajñāpāramitā Heart Sutra. The Prajñāpāramitā, or Perfection of Wisdom, is a genre of Mahayana Buddhist texts that discusses concepts such as emptiness and ultimate reality. While the Heart Sutra is one of the shortest texts in the genre, it is chanted regularly throughout Mahayana Buddhist temples. Being so concise, it condenses the wisdom and realization of all buddhas, distilling it into its essence. This class will unpack the sutra and make the Buddha’s ultimate realization accessible and applicable to our daily lives. Fee: $20 per semester.
