Happiness and peace are what everyone seeks and the vision all humanity strives to attain. How can we achieve spiritual transformation and world peace? The founder of Fo Guang Shan, Ven. Master Hsing Yun said: through the five harmonies, i.e. Individual harmony achieved through joy; Interpersonal harmony achieved through respect; Family harmony achieved through deference; Social harmony achieved through cooperation; World harmony achieved through peace.

The world would be having more love and peace through understanding each other. We should step out of our narrow circles of self-interest into the much wider circles of compassion for all living beings. Through mutual respect among different religions can ever lead to full and lasting peace.

Therefore, at the beginning of each year, Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple invites religious leaders from all major religions to pray for world peace. This year, the ceremony will take place virtually on Saturday January 1. It will officially start at 10:00am (PT) on YouTube. You are cordially invited to join us to pray for world peace.
